I’ve been following this tutorial http://wrightcreativelabs.com/create-a-test-instance-of-a-magento-store/ in Ubuntu, but I’ve been having problems with getting my test Magento working. I got logged in alright made copy of my live Magento, but when I got to making mysql dump I got this error:
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
So I did little searching and found that my mysql server might not be running, but didn’t find a solution.
I also tried to just exporting and importing the .sql file through phpMyAdmin, but that led to having errors in Magento and I couldn’t get to frontend nor backend.
So any advice how to get my test server working? SSH seems like a nice and quick way to update it whenever I need to update it, though I still find it little confusing.
Anyone has the same problem?
